Peyton's first Christmas

Dad you look silly

Peyton's first Christmas went great! We started the morning by putting our Santa hats on, turned up the  Christmas music, baked cinnamon roles and started opening presents.
It was a busy day, here are some pictures of it:

Mommy's presents! (not the ones in the back ;) )

This is all mine?!?

After Christmas at our house, we went to my parents to have lunch but the power was going off and on that morning and we didn't have power for about 3 hours so our lunch plans didn't happen. Instead we had sandwiches outside and then opened presents.

We took a little break for naptime and snacks and then headed to the Ropers. I was trying to make room on our camera for more pictures and while there I realized I didn't put the SD card back in the camera. Cade's dad took pictures thankfully so I'll post those when I get them.

The next day we went to Cade's moms for our final Christmas. By this time Peyton was an expert at holding the wrapping paper and tearing it off. Peyton was giving out kisses, it was so sweet. The only thing missing from this Christmas was Sam, Nicole and Andy! We can't wait to see ya'll soon and Riley Joy!

Giving kisses

Peyton had a great Christmas and is spoiled by all her relatives! Thank you all for the wonderful gifts.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve!

We had a fun filled day! It's hard to get into the holiday spirit when the weather is 75 degrees. We celebrated my dad's birthday, saw my best friend from Oklahoma, baked 2 pies, 12 mini cheesecakes,  looked at Christmas lights and opened stockings.

Happy 83rd birthday!

my long time friend Caley

After visiting with Caley & Ryan, we came home and put on the movie Elf and made some hot chocolate. Peyton put up her first ornament on the tree (with some help).

Afterwards we opened our stockings.

A set of teethers that she likes! Yay!

Delightful December

We have had a busy week! Cade's work has picked up quite a bit, we hardly see him during the day! I just started my nursing program this week and have had to go to class every night so Cade has been super-husband and super-daddy.

My dear friend and old college roommate came to stay with us for a couple days. I haden't seen her since the baby shower. It was great timing since Peyton is more interactive and she was all smiles with her.
Loves Vicki :)
Peyton opened her first Christmas present from Aunt Nicole, Uncle Andy and Sam. She really enjoyed the gift :)

We went for a drive today to Woodville with my parents for my dad's birthday. There is an old school house that we used to go to and have lunch at which we hadn't done in a very long time. In the almost eight years Cade and I have been together he never went so we thought it would be fun to go. Peyton slept the entire time each way, I was shocked!

Happy early birthday Pawpaw

We are looking forward to Christmas Eve tomorrow and of course Peyton's first Christmas!

Happy 5 months! (And 4 month favorites)

Peyton is 5 months old! Wow in 1 more month she will be celebrating her half birthday!

Last month she needed her bumbo to sit up, now she did it all on her own! We still had some tip overs but she is only 5 months.

And onto Peyton's favorites from last month:

Puppy-he doesn't really have a name so we just call him puppy. We were out shopping one day and decided to go into LifeWay to pick out new Bibles and they had a sale on this dog. I got it because it was so soft and a great price. Peyton just loves him!! She talks to him every time you give him to her, its so cute.

Exersaucer-Peyton gets lots of use out of this and her jumper. She just spins and spins in it playing with (and sucking on) all the toys. I've been able to get more things done around the house too.

Tommee tippee pacifiers-we use these to go to bed and stay asleep at night. She likes her wubbanub during the daytime but for bedtime it has to be one of these and no other brands does she like as much.  I 'm pretty much set on all Tomme tippee products now.

Oatmeal-What a milestone, her first solid food! Peyton has become quite the expert at oatmeal eating. She insists on holding the spoon and bringing it towards her mouth when I feed her. Its so cute! But what's not cute is oatmeal poop!!

Tis the season!

What a busy week and a half we have had! We went to my friends bridal shower (Peyton was a hit), attended our first first birthday party and saw Santa! Oh and did I mention that Johnny Manziel won the Heisman? Happy night in the Roper household.

We put up our Christmas tree and started wrapping presents for Peyton. We've realized that there is NO room for any of Peyton's toys along with ourselves. We started looking around at houses and have been looking casually but we decided we needed to be more active as we really have outgrown our current space. We found the house so stay tuned 2013 we will be in a new home!

We saw Santa for the first time last Sunday. He came in the mall jingling his bells, it was really cute when the older kids were getting excited for Santa. Peyton didn't cry and was more impressed with the crowd around then with Santa. It was like a mad dash to get to the next kid, that's the joy of going on a weekend during December. We decided to try another time when there wasn't a big crowd. This time Santa had plenty of time for us and now Peyton got to inspect him more and also grab his beard many times! It's fine to see Santa twice, right?!?
