Peyton's Dedication

Today we dedicated Peyton at our church. Our child of God! A dedication is different from an infant baptism. It is where we, as parents, promise to lead under a Christian household and support her on her spiritual journey with the help of the church. When the time comes, Peyton will decide to let Christ into her heart and accept Him as her savior she will then be baptized (which is the reason of a baptism- when you yourself accept Christ).

Peyton was really good during the service and kept talking and making noises as it went on. About 5 minutes before the dedication Peyton fell asleep! This is the one day where she actually fell asleep during the service, usually by the end she is anxious because she's been sitting patiently. Pastor Bruce held Peyton and walked around the entire congregation talking about our promise as parents. She stayed asleep until he brought her back to us and then woke up and went straight to sleep again. Pastor Bruce wanted to keep her but we told him we liked her a little to much :). We really like this church and are excited to be more involved with them. We want the best for her and I am so excited to share this experience with her.
She LOVED her bible.

And her burb cloth

They gave her a gift which included a certificate of dedication, personalized cloth, bible and little bunny. So blessed to be apart of this church.

Oklahoma (First LONG road trip!)

We took our first long road trip this past weekend to Oklahoma to see the newest addition to the family, Riley. Our longest trip so far has been to College Station with Peyton and she did great then but that was only an hour and a half away so we were a bit nervous to embark on this trip. We initially were going to try to split it up by staying in Dallas but decided we should just go for it all in one day and if it was bad we would just head back home.

We left our house at 4a.m. so that Peyton will still sleep till Dallas. This worked out perfectly, she slept for a few hours and woke up at her usual 6a.m. time, ate and then went back to sleep till we made a pitstop. After our stop at Taco Cabana, we hit the road and Peyton went back to sleep! I've never seen her sleep that much since she was a newborn.
Breakfast at Taco C!
Once we made it to the Rihns, we had a great weekend meeting Riley and hanging out with Sam, Nicole, Andy and Andy's parents and also got to see Derrick.
First time holding Riley

Cade and I had a hard time believing that Peyton was as small as Riley 6 months ago. She was so sweet and peaceful :)

Nap time!
Peyton slept really good when we came back to the hotel but she didn't last long in her pack n play..we've been having her sleep in our bed the past few weeks because she sleeps so good like that. I think we will break this habit once move into our house and each have our own room...and a bigger bed (full size is NOT enough room for me and Cade let alone Peyton in the middle of us!)

First time in a hotel!

Getting ready for the 19 degree weather!

Sunday we hit the road for our long trip back home. We made several stops so we could stretch, guess we all don't like to sit! We didn't get to stop at Buccee's because Peyton was asleep and by that time we wanted to just be home! We did however get some Chicken Express!! She did great the entire trip and I see some road trips in our future!

Happy 6 months!

It's hard to believe our little girl is 6 months old! The time has gone by so fast and I can't really imagine that we will have a 1 year old in no time!
Her 6 month check up went well. Peyton is 27 inches long (80th percentile) and 15.2 lbs (35th--yikes). She is doing great length-wise but the doctor said she is on the smaller weight size. We were shocked at this because she eats all the time! We go back to check her weight in 1 month to determine if she is having any problems gaining weight or just following in her mommy's genetics of being petite. She took her shots like a trooper and the next day we headed to Oklahoma!

A New Year!

Well 2012 was an amazing year for us we: had a baby, I became a stay at home mom, Cade got a new job, bought a new car, Texas A&M had an awesome football season (Johnny Heisman Football & Cotton Bowl champs) and found a house! We were truly blessed in 2012 and are excited for this upcoming year and new adventures that come our way.

This new years was a little different, Cade and I weren't sure if we would actually be able to stay awake to celebrate because the night before Peyton had a rough evening and didn't get much sleep which meant we didn't really sleep. So we tried our best and popped out a bottle of champagne and watched a movie...and we made it to midnight! We had our kiss, gave Peyton kisses and went straight to bed!!

Peyton for the past few weeks has been squeeling non-stop during the day, especially when she is in her jumper. At first we thought she was upset or hurt but saw a huge smile on her face and she just kept doing it. She is a lot more talkative nowadays, she said "dada" but wasn't referring to Cade so it doesn't count!! ;)

-She loves mirrors
-Interested in the phone all the time
-Can sit up tall by herself
-Losing more hair :( but its coming in a lot lighter...think she's going to have Cade's color
-Doesn't like bananas but loves squash! We've only tried apples, bananas, sweet potatoes and squash--so far she is a veggie girl
-Grabs everything
-Gives high-fives (sort of-she puts her hand out and up high and we say high-five to her every time)
-Tries to lunge forward but doesn't really move her we are working on our crawling skills

Highlights of the past few weeks: (these are the most pics I have of Peyton NOT wearing a bow--this won't happen again!)
Playing with her vanity

Going on a picnic...look at that cheek! <3

First time eating sweet potatoes

Playing with the phone and taking pictures

First time sitting in a highchair
piano time!

Ready to go out!

Cotton Bowl ready!
This girl melts my heart! So beautiful!

2013 will bring us: a 1 year old, start of nursing school, continuation of Cade working on his MBA, start of my side business venture (I've already made a few sales!!) and a new house. Looking forward to making more memories.
