Ladybug "Bug-Mobile" Cozy Coupe Makeover

All the new rage on pinterest is upcycling cozy coupes so I figured I'd give it a try.

I bought this used coupe online

Before
I've seen lots of minnie mouse coupes on pinterest and was initially planning on doing that but really wanted something different. I thought a ladybug car would be so sweet!

We used Krylon outdoor plastic paint, cable wire & styrofoam balls (for the antennas) and vinyl circles I cut out myself. After several evenings on painting and putting all the pieces back together, this is what it looked like.
After

And it wouldn't be complete without her very own license plate.

We think she liked it....especially since we are pushing her around in it all the time.

And testing her bug-mobile out outside.

Peyton is ONE!!

We kept the tradition of birthday week going and a candle in her breakfast.

We went to the zoo to celebrate and for the first time road the carousel. Peyton wasn't too sure about it. For a present, I let her pick between the elephant or zebra and she chose the zebra. Fitting since her outfit was zebra, she was pointing to the zebra on the carosuel and her carseat is zebra.
When we got back, Peyton had a LONG nap and then we went out to dinner at La Madeline with my parents.
'Hey mommy look at the carousel!'

'Its a monkey'

Peyton learned a new trick. When we ask how old she is, she puts 1 finger up for "1". Its so precious because she smiles when she does it.
I'm 1!

Opening presents from Mimi & Pawpaw
birthday cake!

Thanks to Mimi & Pawpaw we had to carry around Peyton in her little wagon. And we still have to...I blame Cade since he put her in it. Oh and NO animals can be in it with her..NONE, or they will be dropped out of the wagon while moving.

We did a little mash cake before her birthday and I could barely get pictures of her and the cake before she dug into it--this girl loves her sweets.

Oh...what is this?!
Let me try it out

MMM...

I LOVE CAKE!
Yep, this is how I've been for every picture you've taken mom

Oh stop?! hahaha..yeah..right

Ok I'll use my hands now.

As if only one day a week was enough zoo fun, we decided to test out the radioflyer wagon we got Peyton (and secretly for ourselves).

Spoiled much?

Feeding the giraffes for the first time

We rode the carrousel again and still weren't too sure about it but this time was worse. I think it was Cade being there because she loves to be held by him, so she kept looking back and him wanting him to pick her up. Daddy's girl!

Daddy get me off!

Hey look i'm a monkey!

Next up...the Pink Lemonade Party!

Happy 12 months!

Well 12 months have flashed before our eyes! Its hard to believe that last year we were in the hospital having her.

Things to remember from this past month:
-Started walking the week before her first birthday (and is going all over the place now! and trying to run)
-Bedtime routine has greatly gotten better (i'm not going to jinx it by writing it down so I'm leaving it at this ;) )
-Got our 8th tooth in! And it was a brutal one, not like any of the other ones
-Had our first illness...well this is actually after her first birthday (we made it without ANY illness till this) EAR INFECTION--though you would never know, no fever, a little fussiness sleeping but nothing has kept her down she is smiling, talkative and on the go!

Likes:

-Easily transitioned to whole milk
-Loves yogurt and cheese
-baseball games
-loves to hug her animals
-shaking her booty..this girl has got some moves!
-any Eric Carle book
-rocking in her rocking chair

Dislikes:
-any 'green' foods
-balloons

Stats:
Weight: 18lbs 9 oz (12%)
Height: 29 1/2 in (71%)

She is doing amazing! The doctor was impressed with her development so far (we are too!) No shots this visit, which means we get to go back in 2 weeks (yay for me :/) because of her ear infection.

Roper Wreath

I've been wanting to make a wreath for our door since we moved in in February but never got around to sitting down and working on something just for us. I finally went and bought the wreath and used some extra fabric I had from making Peyton's outfit and just scraps in general. I got my inspiration from here and I LOVE how it looks. It fits the style I love and makes me so happy when I walk to the door.
The picture doesn't do it justice!

I'm WALKING on Sunshine

Yep, that's right we have a beginning walker. I know not that long ago I posted about her taking a few steps.

I really wasn't sure how fast she would get the hang of it but on 4th of July she was taking a little more daring moves. Last night we went and saw the Woodlands Strykers baseball team and Peyton has such a wonderful time. There wasn't and big crowd and people weren't whistling that absolutely awful loud whistle--you know the one that can cause you go to go deaf? Why do people do that, its rude and no one likes it.
Anyway.. we thought it would be a great introduction to see how she might do at a real game. She wouldn't stop clapping and dancing the entire time we were there--literally the ENTIRE time. She's got some moves too (I'm have no idea where she gets them from).

Someone was happy!

We didn't stay for long because, well she won't stay still! We we got home did it our usual family playtime and she started taking more  and more steps towards us.

Well today was the definite day we consider her a walker! She has been walking more and more today and we got a great video of her doing it!

First Fourth and LAST "First" Holiday

This was officially Peyton's last "first" holiday. Hard to believe that 1 year has flashed before our eyes. We had a low-key, enjoyable day. You can forget the awesome food that comes with holidays!

We started the day with delicious red, white and blue pancakes.

Cade grilled burgers and I made all the other food.

Patriotic drink anyone?!? (surprisingly didn't take bad, it was refreshing and a great drink for kids)
looks better in person

How about some delicious RWB chocolate covered strawberries?!? YES I made these!

A little photoshoot:
Beautiful girl

I made Peyton's dress and it went perfect with our Old Navy Flag t-shirts (which are ALWAYS a tradition).

Our house has a nice little view of The Woodlands Anadarko building and this is the general area the fireworks are every year. So we decided instead of fighting a crowd, we would watch from our backyard. Well we knew Peyton would be asleep and she was so tired from all the fun we had earlier we really didn't want to wake her up. So Cade and I decided to watch the show and it was pretty good! (Along with the neighborhood fireworks--surprisingly Peyton slept through all of it).
