15 month check up

Well for some reason I did not remember that this visit would require shots...it must be the late nights and early mornings getting to me. Let's just say this was one for the books! We didn't really start the day off great as they are building & ripping up all the streets in The Woodlands.. we were in some great traffic (oh and during morning rush hour--remind me to not schedule any more early morning visits until this construction is done!). As soon as the nurse called our name, we walked over to go to the exam room and we were almost in until Peyton had flashbacks to all the things that have happened in this room. She quickly broke free from my hand and darted for the exit.

I picked her tiny but strong body up and she immediately began crying when we entered the room. So, you get the picture that that's how the entire visit went..I don't exaggerate--we cried 80% of the time. Dora The Explorer, honey graham puffs and selfies got us through the other 20%. We get to do this again in one month...I've told Cade he gets to take her.

Needless to say, she's doing very well for her age. She's also whopping 19lbs 13 oz--sooo close to 20lbs.

Happy 12 months!

Well 12 months have flashed before our eyes! Its hard to believe that last year we were in the hospital having her.

Things to remember from this past month:
-Started walking the week before her first birthday (and is going all over the place now! and trying to run)
-Bedtime routine has greatly gotten better (i'm not going to jinx it by writing it down so I'm leaving it at this ;) )
-Got our 8th tooth in! And it was a brutal one, not like any of the other ones
-Had our first illness...well this is actually after her first birthday (we made it without ANY illness till this) EAR INFECTION--though you would never know, no fever, a little fussiness sleeping but nothing has kept her down she is smiling, talkative and on the go!

Likes:

-Easily transitioned to whole milk
-Loves yogurt and cheese
-baseball games
-loves to hug her animals
-shaking her booty..this girl has got some moves!
-any Eric Carle book
-rocking in her rocking chair

Dislikes:
-any 'green' foods
-balloons

Stats:
Weight: 18lbs 9 oz (12%)
Height: 29 1/2 in (71%)

She is doing amazing! The doctor was impressed with her development so far (we are too!) No shots this visit, which means we get to go back in 2 weeks (yay for me :/) because of her ear infection.

Happy 11 months!

How is it that we will have a one year next month? We have been so busy that I'm really behind on all the activities but I had to post this! We are officially in full swing with birthday planning.

Things to remember from this past month:
-We started walking one hand assisted but two hands, she flies!
-Took 1 step, maybe a conincendence but it happened!
-Our conversations have increased. Its so amazing to see how she is talking to be about things, we just can't understand every word yet but soon enough we will.
-She can decide between things she wants and doesn't want. She will point to it, shake her head yes or no and sometimes say "dis"="this"
-New words: "yes", "dis=this", "ca=cat". She has been better about saying "hi" but still won't say it every time. She also has said "cheesus" which to me sounds like Jesus, but Cade just laughs at me. I promise it sounds like Jesus!
-Started drinking out of straws

Likes:
-Loves dancing to any song. Even when we sing she will dance and currently sways back and forth and holds up 1 arm.
-Second to swinging, she loves playing in the water.
-LOVES strawberries
-Finger foods are a must
-loves shaking her head yes or no...more so no than yes--we will have to work on that
-Turning on/off any light switch when we are in that room
-Pushing doors open and closing them
-Trying to open every drawer and cabinet
-Enjoys going to the aquarium and zoo

Dislikes:
-putting pj's on
-not as big a fan of bananas as we used to be
-Broccoli

Its getting harder and harder to keep this girl still to take pictures!

"Pictures...really?"

"Ok..are we done yet?"
Next Stop: 1 Year!

This is fun!

Happy 10 months!

In just TWO short months our baby girl will be 1 year old! She is such a joy to be around and has an intoxicating, lovable, precious smile that can melt any heart...And I'm not just saying that because I'm her mom--I mean have you seen the pictures?! They don't do it justice!

 Likes:
-Loves LOVES LOVES swinging.. did I mention she LOVES it?
-Holding up "6" with her fingers. It is ALWAYS 5 fingers on the left hand and 1 on the right.
-Loves pointing to everything
-Says 'cat' in her own way "Ka" when she sees them outside
-Super fast crawler and is getting more brave at trying to stand on her own (she can for about 2 seconds)
-Dances like crazy if she hears any music. Even the wonderful vocals of myself and Cade.
-Anything and everything is a walker
-SLEEPS in her crib ALL night! (by all night I mean she doesn't sleep in our bed, she has been waking up to eat at 2-3a.m.<-growth spurt?)
-Finger foods (particularly bananas, strawberries, avocado, peas, chicken)

Dislikes:
-Green beans. At least any type I make her.
-Diaper changes still
-Me trying to wipe her nose or use simply saline or boogie wipes

Anywhoo, onto our 10 months pictures:

Bling bling..someone got earrings

What better way to celebrate 9 months then with some beautiful cubic zirconia's?

We headed to the doctors office to get it done. I've been wanting to do it but decided I didn't want to wait too long.

last time with un-pierced ears
MiMi joined for some support and to participate in 3 generations of ear pierced babies.

Peyton did so wonderful, she of course cried when she got them but we danced around the room and looked at ourselves in the mirror and were fine...though she didn't really give a good look to the doctor afterwards.

Right after
Maybe a special little girl will get a new pair of earrings for her first birthday...
could she get any cuter?!

Happy 9 months!

Please tell me another month hasn't gone by???

Our sweet baby is:
Weight: 17 lbs 10 oz (28%)
Height: 28 in (64%)

She is right on track with everything! She got pricked for a blood test but didn't notice until the lady kept squeezing her heel.

Many new things happened, here's a recap:

-Started crawling and loves getting around
-Pulls up on her own on anything and everything
-Started to wave regularly and its not just any wave, its pageant material!
-Got 1 more tooth (total of 6 now)
-Stands up in her crib every time she wakes up

 Likes:
-Clapping
-Loves hearing herself laugh and seeing herself laugh too. If we are out and I hear a 'forced' laugh, I know there is a mirror around
-Loves crawling away from us when we say "I'm gonna get you"
-Loves pulling on daddy's hair & ears
-Likes eating avocado and peas

 The wave:

Dislikes:
-Diaper changes. I've gotten pretty good at a crawling and standing diaper change
-Sleeping throughout the night and in her crib. We sleep half the time in our crib and the other house with mommy & daddy (but I'm not complaining)

Everyday is something new and getting better and stronger!
