Go Texan Day! (First Zoo Trip)

Peyton's first kick off to the rodeo. We put on our pink cowgirl boots and headed to the zoo for the first time!
Horse shirt and pink boots!
Before we went there, we stopped by my old work and hung out since the last time most of them saw her was when she was 2 months old. I definitely don't miss the drive, especially now that we live further north.

Peyton LOVED the zoo! It was also her first time to sit in the Bob like a big girl! As we walked around her little feet were moving away, so much so that her boots kept falling off! It was fun exploring the zoo just us, we could take our time and go to different areas we wanted to see (or I guess me, haha). I wanted to go to the big exhibits since Peyton can't really look at the small animals. We saw the lions, monkeys, and giraffes. Lastly we headed to the elephants and right as we got to them, she fell asleep! It was so cute, I guess our adventure wore her out!
A nice lady offered to take our picture

We will definitely be going back to the zoo and will probably get a membership.

Valentine's Day & Cade's birthday!

Peyton's first Valentine's Day was great!

The picture on the Valentine's cards:

Cheesin

We started the morning by getting our free heart shaped chicken biscuit from ChickFila.

Then it was time for Peyton to eat breakfast and enjoy her Valentine's goodies since she can't really enjoy chocolate.

Her Valentine plate
We made cupcakes for Cade's birthday and I thought it would be a good idea to have Peyton on the counter with me while I ice them..and then this happened.

So we decided it might be better to finish up the cupcakes in the walker. :)

Mommy's Valentines

Friday was Cade's 26th birthday and we had a great time celebrating. I made sure that his breakfast had a candle (he wanted Chick fila). We went to Grimaldi's for birthday lunch and enjoy the beautiful weather. Peyton definitely talks a lot and is extremely loud now so its really funny when we got out to places.

After work, we opened presents and sang happy birthday!

This past weekend we had a birthday party of probably my oldest friend, Ivy. I've known her ever since we were in 1st grade and we still keep in touch. It was at Pump It Up and that was the first time we had been there. We didn't play but we did bounce against some of the walls ;)

Hmm...what is this?

Happy 7 months!

Ok, ok...let me tell you a joke.
Peyton is 7 months today! To celebrate we decided to go try out a class at the Little Gym. This is the first time that Peyton has been around so many babies and I feel more comfortable taking her to places like this now that she is a little older and can actually participate.
squeals!

She was staring down everyone when we first got there, I don't think she knew what to do with all those people and babies. She was so intrigued with the other babies during the class. At the very end of the class she started smiling and talking. There was no crying :) We might try out a few other ones to see what is best.

A few things about Peyton at 7 months:

-She has TWO bottom teeth
-Says "dada" and squeals all the time
-Can pull herself up to stand
-HATES pears!
-loves sitting on the window seal and swinging her feet

We love going to McAllisters and seeing how much Peyton has changed at each trip. Its an Aggie tradition to go to McAllisters and we would go when I was pregnant and it was the first restaurant we went to with Peyton after she was born.
Cheers

Our first tooth!

Peyton got her first tooth in two weeks ago. Finally after what seemed like two months of teething with the excess drool and chewing we finally got one in!! She had a some rough times with it so I gave her some orajel and it seemed to help.

She is loving the new sounds that her tooth makes, it so cute to listen to and watch her play. Aside from  that, she is trying to stand up more when I pick up both of her hands. She really does not have an interest in crawling, she tries for a little bit but then rolls over....but we said before we thought she'd skip crawling and I never crawled when I was a baby.

We've been pretty busy these past few weeks. My school work has picked up quite a bit and by headband business, Cade was in Nashville for work for about 4 days and we signed the papers to our house AND moved in!! Wow--that was a lot in itself!

We have dinner with Cade's side of the family for her grandmothers birthday and Peyton did not do so hot. She cried a lot....I think it was the combination of loud restaurant (we don't ever go to noisy places), a VERY short nap, out close to bedtime and her new tooth.

Right before Cade had to go to Nashville we signed the papers on our house. We are still in lala land it seems like. Its hard to believe this is our home. Pictures will come later, it is full of boxes right now!

Peyton has been a little cranky today and I looked in that pretty little mouth and see another tooth coming in!! I've got to say I'm going to miss that sweet toothless smile!!

I want to eat the camera

We got a new hat in the mail..of course
its too hot to wear it now

If you look close there is a tooth!

Peyton's Dedication

Today we dedicated Peyton at our church. Our child of God! A dedication is different from an infant baptism. It is where we, as parents, promise to lead under a Christian household and support her on her spiritual journey with the help of the church. When the time comes, Peyton will decide to let Christ into her heart and accept Him as her savior she will then be baptized (which is the reason of a baptism- when you yourself accept Christ).

Grams--P was still deciding whether to go back to sleep
Peyton was really good during the service and kept talking and making noises as it went on. About 5 minutes before the dedication Peyton fell asleep! This is the one day where she actually fell asleep during the service, usually by the end she is anxious because she's been sitting patiently. Pastor Bruce held Peyton and walked around the entire congregation talking about our promise as parents. She stayed asleep until he brought her back to us and then woke up and went straight to sleep again. Pastor Bruce wanted to keep her but we told him we liked her a little to much :). We really like this church and are excited to be more involved with them. We want the best for her and I am so excited to share this experience with her.
She LOVED her bible.

And her burb cloth

They gave her a gift which included a certificate of dedication, personalized cloth, bible and little bunny. So blessed to be apart of this church.

Oklahoma (First LONG road trip!)

We took our first long road trip this past weekend to Oklahoma to see the newest addition to the family, Riley. Our longest trip so far has been to College Station with Peyton and she did great then but that was only an hour and a half away so we were a bit nervous to embark on this trip. We initially were going to try to split it up by staying in Dallas but decided we should just go for it all in one day and if it was bad we would just head back home.

We left our house at 4a.m. so that Peyton will still sleep till Dallas. This worked out perfectly, she slept for a few hours and woke up at her usual 6a.m. time, ate and then went back to sleep till we made a pitstop. After our stop at Taco Cabana, we hit the road and Peyton went back to sleep! I've never seen her sleep that much since she was a newborn.
Breakfast at Taco C!
Once we made it to the Rihns, we had a great weekend meeting Riley and hanging out with Sam, Nicole, Andy and Andy's parents and also got to see Derrick.
First time holding Riley

Cade and I had a hard time believing that Peyton was as small as Riley 6 months ago. She was so sweet and peaceful :)

Nap time!
Peyton slept really good when we came back to the hotel but she didn't last long in her pack n play..we've been having her sleep in our bed the past few weeks because she sleeps so good like that. I think we will break this habit once move into our house and each have our own room...and a bigger bed (full size is NOT enough room for me and Cade let alone Peyton in the middle of us!)

First time in a hotel!

Getting ready for the 19 degree weather!

Sunday we hit the road for our long trip back home. We made several stops so we could stretch, guess we all don't like to sit! We didn't get to stop at Buccee's because Peyton was asleep and by that time we wanted to just be home! We did however get some Chicken Express!! She did great the entire trip and I see some road trips in our future!

Happy 6 months!

It's hard to believe our little girl is 6 months old! The time has gone by so fast and I can't really imagine that we will have a 1 year old in no time!
Her 6 month check up went well. Peyton is 27 inches long (80th percentile) and 15.2 lbs (35th--yikes). She is doing great length-wise but the doctor said she is on the smaller weight size. We were shocked at this because she eats all the time! We go back to check her weight in 1 month to determine if she is having any problems gaining weight or just following in her mommy's genetics of being petite. She took her shots like a trooper and the next day we headed to Oklahoma!
